We can thank Adam for this title, it sums it all up perfectly.
Adam and I were invited to spend New Years Eve with some friends at a party. The party was hosted by Jerry and Adrienne.
This is Jerry and Adrienne, but obviously, this photo is NOT from last night.
Mental note: I MUST be better about taking pictures of the party hosts. Less Emmarie, More party people. DONE!
I had purchased myself a big ol bottle of marshmallow vodka to get me though the night.
It started out ok…
But suddenly it went downhill fast.
Yep, seriously, what is wrong with me?
My contribution to the party (aside from my awesome dancing) was an un-photographed appetizer.
I made a some really easy stromboli (or garbage bread, as Courtney calls it.)
I just took a roll of refrigerated pizza dough, spread it out and fill the whole thing with toppings of your choice.
I made a pizza one; sauce, cheese and pepperoni, and I made a second one with BBQ sauce, chicken, red onion and cheese.
Roll them up, poke a few holes in the top, to prevent an explosion, and bake at 350* for 30 minutes.
Slice and serve.
They must have been good, cause they were GONE!
But look for them on the blog on the future.
After the cab ride back to Julie and Craig’s house, that’s when it really got ugly. Like BBQ chips and cherry pajama pants ugly.
Eew, I disgust myself.
I almost forgot that Zeus got loose and was running like hell down the street. Adam, Julie and myself were running after him outside…barefoot.
We spent the night at their house, and almost the entire New Years Day. I was so exhausted, and so I just kept on sleeping. woke up a few times, I guess to prove I was still alive.
My actual wake up time was like 4:30 pm. PM, as in ALMOST NIGHT TIME!!
So, yeah, marshmallow coma…..it’s all making sense now, right?
I think the marshmallow vodka is being added to the list of vodkas I can never drink again.
YAY, Rang Tang and Purple, a new friend for your nasty little group!!
Last weekend, I told you about how I had taken limited photos to share with y’all.
Who would have thought that me, a blogger, and an exceptional self portrait taker, would leave their camera behind at a party?
What I wanted to show you, were a collection of photos from a Surprise First Anniversary Party for Joe and Tara.
Ya see, it was exactly a year ago yesterday that we were all sharing a very special day with Joe and Tara in Punta Cana.
So, there was lots of friends, family, fruit and frozen drinks. Just imagine all the bright colors and smiling faces.
And I also remember meeting new people, and showing them my favorite ab exercises, with a skirt on.
It was a great time, and I’m so bummed I can’t share the photos with you. But I will, sometime, soon. I hope.
In the meantime, I suppose I could just keep filling my blog with hilarious some e cards.
Specifically, cake vodka and root beer.
I don’t really love sleeping until 5:30 in the evening with some dry heaving every few hours.
But friends are so worth it!
Happy Anniversary Joe and Tara!!
Yesterday, I did a whole lot of nothing. The only thing I did that actually felt blog worthy was my newest pizza creation.
Adam and I had gone grocery shopping, so I picked up some things that were rolling around in my head.
I started my spreading a thin layer of fat free ricotta cheese on a flatbread. I topped the ricotta with a thinly sliced granny smith apple and some chopped red onion.
I added a little bit of mozzarella cheese to help everything stick together, and finally, sprinkled gorgonzola cheese on top of the pizza.
I placed it in a 450* oven for about 12 minutes.
While the combination of flavors was interesting, it definitely wasn’t my favorite.
I ate it all though! It wasn’t that bad.
This morning, I got up a little earlier than usual, and no, it wasn’t because I was heading to the gym. Wah Wahhhhh!
Zeusy was cramping my sleepy style again, Ya know, he’s only 28 pounds, but I swear it’s like having another adult in the bed.
I might even prefer another adult in the bed , because they understand English, so I could shout, “GET THE HELL OUT OF HERE” and they would actually get it, and not just do this:
Nah, I love my little guy, I can tolerate a billion more kicks to the stomach.
For breakfast, I decided to make myself an egg sandwich. Now that we finally went grocery shopping, my breakfast options are a little more open.
Ham, egg and cheese, on a toasted everything bagel thin. Good way to start my day!
What’s your favorite breakfast?
With my new gym membership, I went to bed last night raring to go. Excited about my first AM workout since my P90X days. When Adam’s alarm went off at 5:50, I was awake, we even had a small conversation. Zeus hopped out of the bed (yes, our doggie sleeps in our bed, judge away) and it was over.
Ya see, Zeus is a snuggler. He likes to get so close to you that you can’t move. When he finally jumps off the bed, gives ya some room, it feels like you’re moving your legs for the first time. And that “first time” stretch was glorious.
It just kept happening, stretching, and rolling around in the bed by myself.
Adam came up a little while later:
“Are you getting up?”
Slept until 7:45 today. Greasy, unwashed hair, minimal makeup and a mish-mosh of easy things to grab for lunch.
Should make for a long, interesting day.
This is helping
