My Favorite Kind of Post
It’s been a while since I really checked all the stats on my blog. I wasn’t too concerned about how many views I had, where my views were coming from, or how people were finding me. In fact, I kicked around the idea of deleting the blog all together. ![]()
Since I’m back in the game, I’ve been looking at all the search terms that lead to my blog. There’s always the different variations of Bananas and Beer; Beer and Bananas, Bananas and Beer diet, (is this such a thing? I should know, right) but every once in a while, there will be a doozie in the list:
GIRL BOTTOMLESS ON MOTORBIKE
Hmmm, I scoured my past posts to try and see what the hell that has anything to do with my blog. I got nothing, but thanks for the laughs, buddy.
LADIES WITH DOUBLE CHIN
Ugh, I know it!!
I LOVE MY NEW GLASSES
Now this seems right. I actually jump at the chance to profess my love for a particular eyewear site, but I’ll save that for another day. In the meantime, I DO love my new glasses.
And all the Instagram photos that follow said new glasses. ![]()
LADIES MUSTACHE
Luckily, I’m not offended by this search term, because I do know how to rock the mustache.
YOU ARE BORING ME TO DEATH
Eh, can’t win ‘em all.
SWISS CHALET SAUCE CUP COSTUME
Oh my gosh, I think I just decided on my next Halloween costume.
PLUS, I would literally shank someone for some of that food right now. I’m ready for this cleanse to be over.
The Great Vacation Post
I’m on vacation this week, and that’s the reason you’re seeing a post.
I spent Monday vegging out with some SATC.
Then on Tuesday, Stephanie picked me up and we went to lunch. After that, I killed it in the clearance section at Ulta.
Those fabulously colored liquid eyeliners were only $2.50 and the eyelashes were only $1.99!!!
My Mom is coming over on Thursday to help me make a turkey. It’s something I’ve never done, and I’m slightly intimidated at the process.
Cut to me gagging while removing the bag of “innards.”
I went out on Saturday night with my girls in preparation of a lazy week off.
I really must keep better track of my nose when out drinking. It’s always MIA in pictures. ![]()
We went to “The Cove” which is a bar with a fun tropical like atmosphere, which doubles as a child’s birthday party venue during the day.
I went hard that night!
4:15 am bedtime, sleepover at Kim’s house, and walking of shamin’ it back the the bar to pick up my car in last nights outfit and way too high shoes for a Sunday afternoon.
I could feel the judging eyes of the mothers, and not to mention the 4 year olds. They’re the worst of all.
And speaking of the shoes…
I should have known the shoe swap was inevitable, I mean, those shoes only get me through 3 out of the 5 bars on our Vegas bar crawl in May.
So between marathon TV watching sessions, and finally making a dent in the stack of Borders Bargain books, I’m having a great week off!
The Mustache is BACK!!!
I know I’ve been MIA for a long, long time. It has everything to do with the fact that eating right and exercising has been eluding me. Wahhh wahhhhh!!!
The spinning sneakers that Adam bought me for my birthday are still in the box. FYI: my birthday was in March.
A ton of stuff has happened since the last time I blogged.
There was my birthday, then Adam’s, then Dyngus Day. I went back to Vegas with my girl Stephanie. I went to some new restaurants, saw some movies, did some drankin’, and did a whole lotta ish that I normally would have blogged about.
I guess I kept thinking that no one wanted to read about that kinda stuff; I’m supposed to be a Healthy Living Blogger.
But ya know what? I like blogging, even if it’s just about my drunken weekends, and if you don’t want to read it, then DON’T! Lucky for me, my blog name has been removed from the “Healthy Bloggers” list and added to the “Possible Alcoholics” one.
Adam and I went out last weekend to celebrate my cousin Tim’s birthday.
We had a blast!! If you’re my Facebook friend then you’ve already seen all the ridiculiousness that ensued….but if you’re not… well, ladies and gentlemen,
The Mustache is back!!
I’ve been told that the mustache is a trendy new thing right now. Like it’s super hipster for beautiful ladies to rock the ‘stache.
So I guess we’re all super hipster. And so is Jack Daniels, although he’s been rocking the ‘stache for a little while longer than us.
On a completely unrelated note, am I the only one who is DEVASTATED about Kristen Wiig leaving (well, already left) Saturday Night Live?
OHMYGOD! All of the best skits involved her!! All of em!! I hate, hate, hate when people leave Saturday Night Live in their prime to move on to bigger and better things. I’m selfish, and I want to laugh at the Target Lady, Gilly,Kat of Garth and Kat, Penelope, etc, for all eternity.
It’s also rumoured that Andy Samberg and Jason Sudeikis are also leaving. WTF, Lorne Michaels? Why can’t everyone just stay on the show forever? WHY???
Can I get an AMEN Darrell Hammond?
My First Parade Experience
So a few weeks ago, when I was hanging out with my cousins, there was mention of Saint Patrick’s Day festivities, involving a limo something, something, something. All I heard was limo, and in typical Emmarie fashion, blurted out “Whaatt?? Why didn’t you invite me?”.
My family, being the awesome people they are, graciously invited me and Adam to crash their SPD Parade activities.
We didn’t catch much of the parade at all, but that was fine by me, I was having a great time hanging out with my family, and some new friends.
Amongst the tons of parade-goers, there was a man walking around with a green fake mustache. I screamed at him “I LIKE YOUR MUSTACHE”, I think I was being a smart ass, but imagine my surprise when the man whipped around a pulled out a pack of fake green mustaches, he gave one to me….AND IT WAS ON!!!
We got home and I passed out on the couch, those Irish Car Bombs are NO JOKE!!
I had such a blast all decked in green!!
Hope you guys all had a great Saint Patrick’s Day weekend. I gotta tell you…all this Irish celebrating has me SO PUMPED for Dyngus Day!!
Happy Birthday to my Best Gal
I’m happy to report that I’m loving the spinning classes I’ve been taking. While the classes are great for me, they leave the blog a little to be desired. On non spin days, I usually do one of the 20 minute cardio routines, and various arm and abs exercises.
I have taken the last few days off from the gym though. My knees are really, really hurtin’ and I need time to recover.
I went out Saturday night, to celebrate My Favorite Gals Birthday!!
Stephanie, Kim and myself went out for a night of drinks and dancing.
So, they give you free champagne on your birthday and that’s where it all went downhill awesome!
And then there’s this….
Whoa, what a feeling, when we’re dancing on the toilet.
Doesn’t really have the same ring to it…
Anyways, after dancing on toilets, stages, and benches, my legs and knees were hurting. Am I getting old, or what??
DON’T ANSWER THAT!!
Ya know who’s not getting old? Stephanie! No sir-ree-bob!!
So a super duper, extra special Happy Birthday to my best friend, Stephanie!!
Big Doin’s Round Here
I DID NOT get up this morning for the gym. I laid in bed for an extra 2 hours and it was glorious. Nevermind the fact that Luke Bryan was singing every 10 minutes to try and wake me from my slumber….
No Luke Bryan, I will NOT shake it for you, I’m sleepy today!!
I did consider getting up for a brief moment. I gave some thought to what I planned on doing at them gym, and I found myself at a loss. I got nothing. So, I slept instead.
I’ll probably head to the gym later, prime “Meat Market” time, and workout with my husband.
I have exciting plans this weekend. Thanks to Sara, I’m about to become obsessed with Dexter.
I’ve got a date with my sweat pants and the couch, and I plan on submerging myself in season 1.
Don’t call me, I’ll be busy.
A few years ago, I remember spending an entire weeks vacation in my pajamas watching CSI on DVD.
I’m actually a little embarrassed that I told you that, like it was some crowning achievement in my life.
It does take skill, my friends, to be this lazy.
Zeus knows what’s up.
Screamin’ Knees & SuperBowl Sunday
I hope you all enjoyed watching The Super Bowl last night, and that the team you were rooting for won.
Or more like, I hope your squares were lucky and you won some big money! ![]()
Adam and I went to my cousins house last night to watch the “Big Game”.
I really am not a huge football fan. Or any sports really, but point me in the direction of a party and I’m all over that.
Tim and Carrie had quite the spread, so much delicious food. They also had some jello shots, which is right up my alley. And not to mention a nice accompaniment to my vodka soaked gummy bears.
We had so much fun! And we all decided that we need to hang out much more often.
In fact, I see a round of “Battle Shots” in our near future.
I decided to take today off from the gym, because my bad knee is still bothering me.
Probably had something to do with going out dancing Saturday night, in heels, and strolling home at 4.
Legs, feet, pretty much my whole lower half was screaming at me at that hour.
But I’ll be up and at ‘em tomorrow!
Game Night
I didn’t get to the gym yesterday because I had a dentist appointment.
Rest assured, my teeth are fine.
But I was pretty pleased with myself that I went to the gym Thursday morning too.
So pleased that I had to BLAST it on all social media networks!
Last night, we had our friends, Julie and Craig, over for some good times. We started the night with some drinks…
Then we headed out to dinner at Danny’s.
After dinner we came back to our house for more drinks and GAME NIGHT!!
We played Scattergories…
The object of the game is to score the most points by uniquely naming objects, within a set of categories, given an initial letter, within a time limit.
Ok, so say we roll an “A”, and within 2 minutes you have to come up with different answers, all starting with “A”.
Seems easy enough, right?
Yeah, apparently not to this gal, but I caught on for round 2.
I didn’t come close to winning, but it’s all good.
After the game, there was this….
Yeah, delicious peanut butter pie.
It was so, so kind of them to leave us the leftovers.
Yeah…THANKS!!
Heading to the gym to burn that baby off, then I’ve gotta get started on some making some Super Bowl snacks for tomorrow!
A Day Late
Let me start by giving my Dad a shout out. Yesterday was his birthday.
We all went out to dinner to celebrate, and even though the camera was in the purse, I got nothing. ![]()
Happy (One day late on the Blog) Birthday Daddy!!
I guess I’m going a little “memento” on ya, and I’ll recap skating from the last time I blogged.
So, on Wednesday nights, it’s only $2 to skate. I love a cheap night out.
I could have brought my rollerblades, but I really wanted to get a wicked foot fungus go old school. REPRESENT!
It’s so much fun to roller-skate. It reminds me of birthday parties from my youth, especially the smell of the rink. It’s a distinctive aroma, I can’t really describe, but it knocks you on your ass the moment you walk through the doors.
And it never leaves your nasal passages until you walk out the door.
Even after all that, I can’t wait to go back.
We’ve done this before, we’ve gone skating, had a great time and promised to go back every Wednesday. We’ll see.
Let me leave you with this today.
It’s cold outside, but someone is toasty warm…
AAhhh!! A PUPPY WITH A COAT ON!!
Hilarious!!
You’re Welcome ![]()
Lady Date and Birthday Surprises!
As I mentioned the other day, Stephanie and I went on our Lady Date Thursday night.
We went to Russell’s, and it was amazing.
I didn’t take a photo of every thing I put in my mouth, but I should have, because it was all sooo good, and I wish I had the visuals to remind me.
We also will never be doing that again. I mean, we knew that it was “fine dining” which would be expensive, but we definitely had some sticker shock when the bill came. ![]()
After dinner, we headed out to get our big ass drinks, but unfortunately, a belly full of food, only makes for some sleepy ladies. We called it an early night.
Which was good because I had some plans for Friday night anyway.
Ya see, I’m a super secret party planner.
Craig and I were in cahoots to plan a little impromptu surprise birthday party for my friend, and his wife, Julie.
It was a great night out with friends, and I’m glad that everyone could come out and celebrate for her birthday.
I also, for the first time in my life, played darts. I know that’s weird. But seriously, I’ve never thrown a dart before. A Jart? well, that’s a different story!
So, yeah, first time….
Ok, so maaaaaybe those aren’t my darts…
But they were my teammates, and that’s kinda like it was me, right?
Go Craig!!
It was an awesome night out.
I’ll be taking off soon to cheer on my hubby while he plays hockey. He’s playing in his yearly “Winter Classic”. It’s at the outdoor rink in East Aurora, and then there’s a little shin-dig afterwards.
This is turning out to be a super fun weekend!!
